Uncle SJ... in a transient world!

I like how Diana frames this  :)

These are a few of the pictures from the demonstration against Sharon Needles in Atlanta on 6/28/12. We had about 10 people with signs and another 6 or so handing out fliers with this image on one side:

and sources for more information about instances in which she’s been racist, transphobic, and flippant about perpetuating oppression.

If you’d like a copy of the flier to hand out at your demonstration, don’t hesitate to contact us!

Happy Holidaze!

Happy Coming Out Day…

I was drawn to tumbler today because there are youth on here contemplating self-harm… I wanted to let them know that I am working hard to make the world a better place for LGBTQQ & situated youth. I don’t believe things will just get better on their own; conversations, negotiations, and protests need to encourage society to ~ Make it better: Do something!

Now, as a youth advocate, I say that it’s not the youth’s job to teach hard-headed adults [unless they have a calling to do so]; and in many instances, it really is the adults’ job to instill knowledge and character in young people, [teachers, counselors, theologians, etc…] Regardless, I think it is the responsibility of all adults to be life-long learners [new & useful vocab…especially as related to QQ youth] and supporters of youth.

I just want all you tumblr-youth to know that I am fighting like hell to make it better; please hang in there. Please choose to be here long enough to experience the beauty of living. Your job is to focus on the foundations of you, as you gain a more solid footing, in this transient world!

with much peace & love,

USJ
